In work package 5 we  aim to integrate sustainable tourism practices into higher education curricula, ensuring future professionals are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. It also assesses the impact of these practices on students, local communities, and ecosystems to measure tangible outcomes. Additionally, in WP5 we focus on sharing project results and best practices globally with academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. This initiative supports SDG 4 by enhancing curriculum innovation and quality education, and SDG 11 by promoting sustainable cities and communities through responsible tourism practices.

  • Enhanced Integration of Sustainable Tourism Practices
  • Impactful Educational Outcomes
  • Global Dissemination of Knowledge and Best Practices
  • Advancement of Global Sustainable Tourism Education
  • SustainEurope 2027 Summit

Within WP5, we have prepared the Sustainable Tourism Case Studies Compilation, a collection of inspiring examples showcasing how sustainable tourism education is being transformed into meaningful action. This resource aims to inspire educators, learners, and tourism stakeholders by showcasing effective sustainability initiatives and demonstrating the power of education as a driver of a more responsible and sustainable tourism sector.
